Based in Port Talbot, South Wales, Western Log Group has been involved in the timber
industry for over two decades and is now one of the UK’s leading suppliers of timber
cabins for personal and business use, and can boast an extensive portfolio in the
leisure and play industries.
In 1982, our Chairman, Mr Geoff James, who was very involved in landscaping, garden
centres and farming, saw the opportunity to produce and market products from locally
sourced quality timber, that would be required in the aforementioned and other industries.
The business has increased considerably since then, with a high proportion of turnover
attributed to the manufacture of Quality Playground Timber.
In recent years Western Log Group has developed a much wider range of products by
erecting a second new mill - equipping it with traditional Debarkers, Peelers and
Pointing Machines. With a high production 24 hour system, it is capable of producing
in excess of 30,000 pos. post/rails per week.
The company has now become one of the leading producers of machine rounded and traditionally
peeled products in the UK.
The Western Log Company operation now stands proudly on a 20-acre site encompassing
a broad range of activities. The Company provides national coverage on all products,
mostly via well-appointed stockists, all of who are supported by very experienced,
highly motivated staff.
The Western Log Group range of timber cabins were launched early in 2001 and since
this time, the response to the product has been overwhelming, with installations
taking place all over the UK. We now offer a range of cabins and chalets, in either round log
or square log, that offers the perfect alternative to an extension for that extra
space needed, and can be a place to relax, work or study in peace, a storage space
or even a room for guests to come and stay over night!
In addition, the company is proud of its long established nation-wide reputation
for the creativity of its timber themed play centres both indoor and outdoor.
The originality and commitment to quality displayed in its adventure golf courses,
mini-kart tracks, and timber play centres has secured the support of some of the
industry's most prestigious names.
The group continues to expand and has significantly increased the supply and distribution
of timber products, ensuring all year round supply.
